Voice actor Eric Bauza, the voice behind the modern incarnations of many of the Looney Tunes, has passed away suddenly. Bauza's family confirmed his passing in a post shared on his Instagram account, with local news KTLA reporting from the Los Angeles Medical Examiner's Office report that Bauza died from hypertensive cardiovascular disease on Sunday, October 26.

Bauza was one of animation and video games' most prolific voice actors with hundreds of projects under his belt. Bauza was the modern voice for Elmder Fudd, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvis the Martian, Bugs Bunny, and Daffy Duck. In video games, Bauza has had roles of various sizes in games like Batman: Arkham City, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, High on Life 2, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

He would frequently catch on to memes involving these characters online and record voiceovers for them for little more reason than finding them funny. Bauza's most recent roles involved multiple characters in Coyote vs. ACME, a movie at the center of a cancellation controversy after Warner Bros. Discovery shelved the entirely complete film for tax-related reasons, only for it to eventually make it out this year under a new distribution partner. Bauza also voiced some characters in the currently-running Avatar: Seven Havens.

It is entirely likely that anyone who has enjoyed animation or video games in the last two decades has heard Bauza's work in some context. Bauza is also one of the most prominent Filipino-American voice actors in the western industry.

Ghost of Yotei star Erika Ishii commented on Bauza's family's Instagram posting, writing "Much love to you and the rest of the family. He was a good man, a literal voice for change, advocacy, and a pioneer in animation, not to mention the Asian American community. The rest of the voice acting community is here for anything."
