Square Enix has announced that the remake of Romancing SaGa 2, Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, has sold over one million units worldwide, both physically and digitally.
The team shared new artwork by Yoshiro Ambe for the occasion, depicting the game’s vast cast, and noted that this is the first title in the series to reach this milestone since SaGa Frontier 29 years ago.
The original Romancing SaGa 2 was acclaimed for its nonlinear adventure and challenge. Players must defeat the Seven Heroes of the Varennes Empire, who have sunk into vengeance.
Players take on the role of Emperor of Avalon, defending the Empire across several generations while trying to defeat the Seven Heroes; over 30 characters can become the new Emperor.
Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven features Japanese and English voiceovers, an enhanced turn-based battle system, original and rearranged compositions by franchise composer Kenji Ito, and more.
Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is available worldwide on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
