Continuing the SaGa (no apologies whatsoever) of Square Enix remaking the classic series, the last of the mainline Romancing SaGa games got an official release date today. It is noted to feature eight different protagonists with their own stories, free-form scenarios, and a number of different minigames, along with the series’ — well — it’s a SaGa title. Trademark isn’t the best word, but the series’ consistent refusal to stick to a formula in any real sense. I absolutely do not mean this as a negative, believe me.
As a massive fan of the series (see my 30 Years of the Playstation in NA list from 9/9 of last year, which had two SaGa titles on it), and as someone that adores when RPGs try to mix things up in every installment, seeing SaGa 3 getting it’s time is good to see. As a massive fan of the series, however, this means that Unlimited SaGa is likely the next one up, if there’s another remake. Unlimited is one of those cases where I’m both extremely interested in seeing how that’d do these days, and I genuinely adore it, it’s still Unlimited Saga. However, that’s a concern for the future, please take a look at the trailer for RS3: DU below.
Romancing Saga 3: Destinies United will be out on February 16, 2027. It will release on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, XBox on PC, and Steam, pre-orders are open now.

My memory's spotty, to say the least, but gaming's been a major part of my personal life from my younger years, where it was directly responsible for my fingers becoming functional. I've owned every notable Sony console, but started with the Sega Genesis, and I'm still slightly annoyed by the Dreamcast's lifecycle going the way that it did.
