Where to sell the Bunny Hood in Zelda Ocarina of Time

The Bunny Hood in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a rather adorable hat/mask that Link can sell to one lucky Hyrule inhabitant. As a result of this sale, you'll be able to line your pockets with Rupees and unlock a whole range of masks from the Happy Mask Shopkeeper for you to wear. You can also claim some random rewards by showing off this mask to some Deku Scrubs…

So that you can sell this mask and make the most of its few uses, my guide below details exactly where to sell the Bunny Hood in Zelda: Ocarina of Time, as well as where you can use it afterwards.

Where to sell the Bunny Hood in Zelda Ocarina of Time

First things first, to get your hands on Ocarina of Time's Bunny Hood, you'll need to kick off the Mask quest at the Happy Mask Shop in Hyrule Castle Town. Then, you'll need to sell the Keaton Mask, Skull Mask, and Spooky Mask (whose new owners can be found in Kakariko Village, the Lost Woods, and the Graveyard respectively). The Bunny Hood will only become available in the Happy Mask Shop only after this has been done!

After selling the above masks, the Happy Mask Shopkeeper will now have the Bunny Hood available for you to borrow and sell. This has a going rate of 50 Rupees.

Now, before you're able to sell the Bunny Hood to a new owner, there's one thing that you need to make sure you've done first: complete the Lord Jabu-Jabu's Belly dungeon in Zora Fountain during Link's child timeline. Otherwise, the prospective buyer of this mask won't actually be available!

I'd also recommend making sure you have at least one Wallet upgrade, or that your Kokiri Wallet is as close to empty as possible before continuing. Trust me!

After completing the above, head to Hyrule Field and start searching for the Running Man. Now the issue with this is that he's running around the area (which is quite large!), so finding him can take a little while during the daytime. During the nighttime however, the Running Man does stop and rest at intervals, so you may find it easier to try and track him down then.

Remember that you can play the Sun's Song to change the time of day if needed.

Once you do locate the Running Man and catch up to him, speak to him with the Bunny Hood equipped and he'll quickly offer to buy it no matter what the cost.

Hand the Bunny Hood over and he'll pay you a Gold Rupee, which will give you a total of 200 Rupees. That's 150 Rupees of profit!

Next, make your way back to the Happy Mask Shopkeeper to hand over the 50 Rupees you owe him. This will then complete the Mask quest and as a reward, you'll gain access to four new masks: the Mask of Truth, the Gerudo Mask, the Goron Mask, and the Zora Mask.

I highly recommend wearing the Mask of Truth around Hyrule, as it allows you to listen in on the thoughts of some NPCs. On top of that, you can wear this mask in the Forest Stage in the Lost Woods to receive a reward!

How to use the Bunny Hood in Zelda Ocarina of Time

Once you've successfully sold the Bunny Hood and made the Running Man very happy (and faster at running), the Bunny Hood will be available at the Happy Mask Shop for you to borrow and wear whenever you want.

In the original game, masks can only be worn by Child Link. As of the Switch 2 remake, these masks can also be worn as Adult Link!

The Bunny Hood has two notable uses. The first and perhaps the most useful is that it prevents Stalchilds from spawning at night in Hyrule Field when you have it equipped, making exploring the area during nighttime that little bit less perilous.

Secondly, the Bunny Hood can be worn in the Lost Woods' Forest Stage (which is found in a Secret Grotto hidden in the meadow area that's not far from the entrance to Sacred Grove) to earn some random rewards from the Deku Scrubs there (including Rupees). Though, this is not always guaranteed rewards; sometimes, the Deku Scrubs will get angry and begin attacking Link with seeds until he leaves instead.

Aside from that, the only other thing worth noting before you can continue is regarding the eclectic Running Man. During Link's adult timeline, he can be found inside the Carpenter's Tent in Gerudo Valley after the bridge there has been fixed. (This occurs after you rescue all four Carpenters in Gerudo Fortress.)

Once he arrives there, you can speak to him and he'll challenge you to a race. If you wish to know more about this particular challenge, then check out our guide on whether or not you can beat the Running Man.
